BOX RIVER NEWS REVIEW
Christmas is nearly here and there’s no better way to start December than with a trip to the pantomime. This year’s production at the Boxford Village Hall took the classic story of Cinderella with all our favorite characters and added lots of modern songs and chart hits.
We experienced the magical age old fairy tale and watched while Cinderella overcame her not so wicked stepmother and
stepsisters and go on to win the heart of the handsome Prince Charming with lots of fun and laughter along the way.
Written by Joe Barrett who also played Fallopia Hardup one of the ugly sisters, and directed by David Phillips, this years
production included many new faces and a somewhat younger cast than previously. A big welcome to the Tolputts with James
playing Baron Hardup and Angela his not so wicked wife Hilda and son Sam putting in a strong performance as Zip, the
side kick of Buttons played by Josef Thompson who had some of the best one liners in the panto.
Great performances by all including the superb meal dished up by Dawn Mace and her many helpers. Can’t wait until April
for the next BDG production.
